Letterforms
Definition
A letterform, letter-form, or letter form is a term used especially in Typography, paleography, calligraphy, and epigraphy to mean a letter's shape. A letterform can be best described as a design, or shapes of letters or symbols, either as written by hand or as represented in a particular type font.[1] A letterform is a type of glyph, which is a specific, concrete way of writing an abstract character or grapheme. Origin

Often tied with Typography, the letter serves as the core unit, and each is made distinguishable with its letterform.
Conclusion

The connective tissue that transforms a circle into a letter is only as strong as the imagination that creates it.[4]
